Antique brides basket with Silver plated stand with Egyptian inspired winged motif above the feet.

Late 19th to early 20th century (c. 1860s–1920s) – The second major wave came during the Victorian era, especially after the opening of the Suez Canal (1869).

Highly fashionable as a wedding gift in the 1900's this beautiful crafted item stands the test of time. Its iridescent glass bowl stands atop a silver plated stand with feet in the shape of wings and little lion feet.

Bride's baskets became popular in the mid-19th century and were used to display the bridal bouquet or as part of the table setting at the wedding reception. They are now considered collectible antiques. The style of the basket in the image appears to be influenced by Art Nouveau or Jugendstil, known for flowing lines and natural motifs.

Brilliant condition, no chips or cracks to glass, the stand is also in fantastic condition with no chips or cracks or repairs.

All items are sensitively cleaned, ESPN silver has been minimally polished.

Any questions please don't hesitate to drop me a message. I am very happy to pass on any additional information, or images you may need, if you are interested in more than one item I can arrange a combined postage price. Many thanks.

All items will be packaged using recycled or reused materials to help minimise any environmental impact.

Please be aware that you are purchasing a vintage item. We mention any obvious defects to the glass such as chips, cracks, etc. in our description but there may also be minor manufacturing faults eg. marks from the mould, straw marks and air bubbles, which is normal for glass of this era.
