Auguste Walther & Söhne in the 1930's Peter Pan Uranium glass waterlily bowl
Auguste Walther & Söhne in the 1930's Peter Pan Uranium glass waterlily bowl.
A wonderful art deco frosted green glass 'Flötenspieler' (flute player) figurine, also known as 'Peter Pan' by collectors. Made by German company Auguste Walther & Söhne in the 1930's, and is featured in their 1934 product catalogue. Made in uranium green glass, which glows brightly in UV light, note: images taken with UV light torch, 395nm wavelength.
Fantastic condition, small amount of wear to the frosting on the waterlily design on the outer side of bowl and one small chip at the base of the figures but not visible when inside flower frog base.
Remarkable condition really considering its size and age.
The Peter Pan figurine stands 9.5 inches or 24cm high without the flower block. The foot of the Peter Pan is 5.5 inches or 14cm in diameter.
The bowl measures 13 inches or 33cm in diameter and 3 inches or 7.5cms high.
The flower block measures 6 inches or 15cm in diameter.
