Large Stuart and Sons Peacock Vase For Liberty & Co

£450.00

Excellent large example in Vaseline glass with green turquoise centre of the peacock eye.

Manufactured exclusively for Liberty and Co in 1910.

Fantastic example of the Aesthetic Movement design (UK’s equivalent of Art Nouveau).

Stuart and Sons are reknowned known for this style of decoration with many documented examples. They were based in Stourbridge where other well-known glssmakers were also founded such as Stevens & Williams. Thomas Webb and Richardson.

11 cm tall and approximately 20 cm in diameter

A rare find in Vaseline glass, very bright glow under UV blacklight, note: images taken with UV light torch, 395nm wavelength.

Brilliant condition, no chips or breaks to the glass, base has some slight grazing from use and there is one small graze on the side of the bowl, very slight and not noticeable.

All items are sensitively and minimally cleaned
